Push Pay Q&A
There are three ways to give to Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. The first way to give is via our Pushpay app that you can download by texting “5THABC” to 77977. The second is by clicking the "GIVE" button above and giving via a secure online giving portal. The third option is to place your tithes and offerings in the offering plate as it is passed on Sunday. Whichever way you choose to give, your generosity doesn’t go unnoticed. Your giving is a tangible expression of your support of the mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and what God is doing within and through our community. Thank you.
GENERAL GIVING FAQ
Why give?
If you choose to get involved in any kind of group it will cost you in time and money. It is true that, if you don’t get involved in anything, you will have maximum control of your time and money. However, you will miss friendships and opportunities to be a good influence in the lives of others. Each of us decides where to spend our time and money. Each of us will either invest it in some purpose or waste it on the pleasures of the moment. Jesus said that there is an eternal investment that will not fade, rust, or decay when we do good works that show our love for God and others (Matthew 6:19-20).
There are people who invest in Fifth Avenue Baptist Church because they believe that what is happening here matters. We are inviting you to be part of what we are doing in our community. The generosity of our members and friends is vital to what we do. Giving enables us to live out our mission of connecting disconnected people to God and to each other and gives us the resources to impact our community. But giving is more than about being generous to the church. The scriptures say that God loves a cheerful giver, not because the church’s needs are met, but because God’s heart is made glad when we depend on him to provide for us.
We invite you to be part of making our mission and vision alive in our community.
Where does the money go when I give?
God provides for the ministry of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church through your tithes and offerings. We honor your gifts with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of Fifth remains beyond reproach. Your faithful giving provides for our staff, facilities, outreach events, kid’s ministry and everything in between. We can’t do ministry without you.
What happens when I give?
We believe giving is more than a financial transaction. Giving has an effect on our hearts. To learn more, click here and read our “What Happens When You Give” document.
What if I don’t have enough money to tithe?
Giving 10% of your income to your church can be a big – and often frightening – commitment! But if scripture tells us to honor Him with our first fruits and our blessings will be overflowing, we must learn to trust that He is faithful to provide. God wants us to trust Him. Seek His guidance in how much you should give, and He will honor your faithfulness and obedience.
