Pastor Hal Kitchings
Senior Pastor
A native Mississippian, Hal enjoyed sports and going to the beach on vacations whenever possible during his growing up years. Living in St. Petersburg is a natural fit with the various beaches and sports teams. His dad and granddad were pastors and even though he didn’t see himself following in their footsteps, he eventually said, “yes,” to God’s call upon his life while attending Mississippi College. While furthering his preparation for ministry by receiving a bachelors and doctorate, he feels some of his greatest accomplishments have been his wife of thirty-five years, Kellie, and his two adult children, Trey and Halie. (They are also in ministry with their spouses.) Pastor Hal enjoys pastoring the loving people of Fifth, preaching for application, and leading the church to reach the next generation. One of his favorite sayings is our church is not a country club for saints, but a hospital for sinners.
